These rugs are beautiful! The class is planned for 9- 2 pm, but you can stay and sew till 4 pm if you have the time.

You can make a 40 strip or 20 strip rug ( THIS IS QUICKER )  A 40 strip rug will likely need to be completed at home.

Please come with your jelly roll strips all sewn together. Message Daphne if you can not do this before the class.

For this class you do need to know how to operate a sewing machine. Thread and wind a bobbin.

You provide the supplies.

Sewing Machines and some tools provided. ( if you have your own machine with a quilting table extension you will benefit from brinign both )

For this class you need :

1. 100% cotton jelly roll of your colour choice ( buying online is optional, but TEMU does not have the correct width jelly rolls- so be careful with purchasing)

40 strips for large rug and 20 strips for a small rug

2. Jelly-Roll Rug Batting Roll – On-A-Roll 2 1/2″ x 50 yards ( usually this is 2 rolls) for a large rug and 25 yards for a small rug.

3. 1,300 meter spool of 50 wt Thread ( a good option is 100% cotton thread- Aurifil ) 

4. 16/100 Denim Needles

5. Clover jelly roll maker ( it will save you a LOT Of time ) I do have these to purchase in the studio.

6. A Box or laundry basket to keep the long rolls in as you sew.

7 Bring a walking foot if you own one and pre- wind 5 bobbins if you are bringing your machine.

If you want to go home with a small finished rug, use only 20 of the jelly roll strips and not the full 40 strips. This means you also only need 25 yards of batting.
