Adult 101 Sewing Class
Classes are offered every Tuesday evening in April (1st, 8th, 15th, 22rd, 29th). Focus will be on sewing summer clothing and crafting projects. Learn everything from how to cut a pattern, read a pattern and complete a project. Fabric, notions and pattern may be provided by you , but I also have MANY patterns and lots of donated fabric you can use for free. On April 1 , the first night we will start with : How to insert zippers and make buttonholes and give opportunity to discuss your goals and pattern choice. This is for beginners to advanced sewers. Machines are provided or you bring your own.

- Our Sewing 101 Course is a continuation of our Sewing 100 Course. Basic 100 sewing required. You need to know how to operate a sewing machine, threading and have some understanding of basic sewing terms.
- It will provide you with a good foundation in reading and cutting sewing patterns as well as understanding the terminology and symbols used.
- This is a summer focused class with many projects to choose from.
- All students will start with a simple project teaching zipper insertion and buttonholes and then choose to: Make a skirt, top,dress or choose a crafting project of your choice. ( pop in before the start of the class to browse through patterns and fabric )
- Whether you are coming in with previous experience or just finished our Sewing 100, this course will expand your current skills and teach you how to work with sewing patterns.
- Goals Of This Intermediate Sewing Patterns Course:
- Become more comfortable and confident reading sewing patterns
- Become more comfortable sewing with Simplicity, McCall's and Butterick patterns
- Gain experience working with three dimensional projects
- Learn to work with bias tape, padding, elastic and zippers
- Learn to create ruffles and work with magnetic snap
- Learn how to apply topstitching with a twin needle
- Become more familiar with terminology used in patterns
- Learn about different types of fabric that would be best for your projects
- Will learn several tips that will make the whole sewing process much easier
